Outreach at the Windings in Helsby

The Windings After numerous false starts and raised hopes, at last our Outreach at the Windings in Helsby is going to happen! For various reasons, we have been put on hold so many times BUT our lead volunteer, Lesley was determined, and her perseverance has been astonishing.

Our Bee Friends coffee mornings will start on Tuesday 4th March 2025 from 10-12 noon and run fortnightly thereafter and of course, completely free of charge.

Each resident has had a letter personally addressed and delivered to each of the 77 properties and we will display a poster a week before each session. We have also had interest from some of the residents in the village who do not live in the Windings, and we are happy to welcome them too.

To signpost our presence, a feather banner will be erected outside the front entrance of the building prior to each session.

A further and unexpected development is that the Bee Friends very active crafting group, Bee Creatives, are going to attend the Windings too. They are lively and productive and will add a further dimension to what is on offer.

The project will be delivered by a team of three key volunteers, Lesley, Carol Ann and Kerrie. We wish them well for this exciting next step in the Bee Friends adventure.

Creative Ways to Make a Warm Welcome in North Cheshire

WarmFrodsham Bee Friends have just celebrated their second birthday as a Warm Welcome Space. Bee Friends offer a Warm Welcome Space for people living in Frodsham, a small town in North Cheshire, which has a large population of older people. Their purpose can be summarised in the words of their motto, Bee Friends. It’s about bringing people together; making connections; creating networks. The intention is not to set up new organisations or structures but to serve as a bridge between other local groups and individuals.....
